JUNE.28.2002 who gives a fuck woopity doo... looks like unleashed finally figured out why we couldn't log into our website, thanks, but like i said, who gives a fuck. well what do i have to say thats good? threewave capturestrike is the bomb... i'm glad it came out because rocket arena was really getting old and some of the people are just too damn good at it. i don't think we are going to host a server any time soon, but i have no complaints thanks to my i-55 dsl connection i get low pings most anywhere (werd). but who really gives a fuck? -jilted
JANUARY.30.2001 We're still, still here! Acquiring signal...
If anyone still cares, we are still here, somewhat alive and kicking. Only news we have is that the server is now running Half-Life: Counterstrike. Plans to bring up the Q3A server are in the works once again. There are no promises on when the exact date will be. All we can say is very soon. Keep checking back for the latest info.
Signal lost... -unleashed
APRIL.05.2000 Quakecon registration & we're still here quakecon2000 registration is now open. the ninvaderz will be there again to have lots of fun. it's such a fun thing. play lots of quake and eat and get some sleep in there also. i can't wait to play on the 1250 user LAN that they will have set up. nothing better than lots of people in one place with supa dupa low pings playing quake. www.quakecon.org is the url. AND, it's cinco de mayo and we're all still alive. we were all supposed to die today because some religous wackos said so since a bunch of planets were all aligned for the 1st time in a long long long time. i wonder when they will figure out when the next 'end of the world' is? hopefully after qcon. -jilted
JANUARY.23.2000 Happy Late New Year & Other News umm happy late new year. i went to vektor's house and we shot firecrackers and drank beer into the wee hours of the morning while watching the cnn coverage of y2k around the world which was pretty boring except for the fireworks. we shot a big 1000 strand of firecrackers at stroke of midnight (i said stroke huh huh huh) that was the highlight of our y2k fiesta... it was loud. so i also have a few other things to talk about. kill the ninvaderz is a stupid little java applet i stole from some website that you can play and shoot UFOs as they try to land on earth. fun. AND gamespy released a neat little update for the q3a internal server browser called ArenaSpy that works much better. anyway, the reason i this is important to us it that the screenshot on their page showed a list of servers with our server being the highlighted one. yeah i know... woopity doo! but i thought it was neat and worth mentioning. anyway, to recap older news quake.i-55.com is still online running strong so come play some q3a with us sometime foolios. end. -jilted
DECEMBER.08.1999 ONLINE FOR YOUR FRAGGING PLEASURE: quake.i-55.com life is good. quake3arena is out and its frickin' cool. the server has been online since the 4th but i've been tweaking the config and all and its running good now and should be showing up in your gamespy as 'Alien Invaderz Quake III Arena' once again... the address is quake.i-55.com or 204.27.97.250 come and play. i know i'll be playing this ubercool game for many years to come. life is good. by the way, if you are running voodoo2 still (like me) you will need to go get the new v2 drivers as they now support directX 7 and make the game run pretty damn good for being an older 3d card. (i'm waiting for voodoo5-5500) -jilted
NOVEMBER.24.1999 Q3A demo test rules & quake.i-55.com lives! werd... the q3a demo test has been out for a week or so. it's tons o fun. the bots are a blast to play and on NIGHTMARE! skill they will frickin own u. the game went gold a few days ago and the full demo will be out in a couple days and the real game should be at my office hopefully by december 1. yes, the server has been rebuilt (again) by unleashed and jilted (mainly unleashed) as he purchased a new motherboard for it. anyone who wants to throw a few bucks his way please do so. he has been very generous on his contributions for the server so u local 504 people can have a nice ping :) i am thinking he should have the server running tomorrow night (werd) and you can find it at quake.i-55.com or 204.27.97.250 it will be running the q3a demo test unless the full demo is released before tomorrow night. if so u fools will have to download that to play but u betta download it anyway because it is the best game to ever be released (except for pac-man). hehe. enough ranting... i'm gonna go play the q3a demo some more. :) -jilted
NOVEMBER.02.1999 I Just Pre-Ordered Q3A... (werd) woopity doo! been quiet for a while... well, i just pre-ordered Q3A from ebWorld.com (werd) i ordered the 'elite' edition which comes in a tin box (instead of cardboard) i guess that makes me the complete nerd. btw, we forgot to mention the our picture was taken for the next generation magazine quakecon99 article. its just a shot of the BYOC section and you can see the 3 of us at our computers (neato). anyway, we hope to have the server up and running for the release of Q3A which is 11-24-1999 i think. bye bye -jilted
AUGUST.09.1999 QuakeCon 99 Wrap-Up Very well, where do I begin? How about from the beginning? Well, first the Earth cooled, then the dinosaurs came, but they got all big and fat and turned into oil. Then came the arabs, they got rich and bought Mercedes-Benz's and....ehhhh. Ok.
The trip from Louisiana took a little over 8 hours. Nothing eventful, just your average road-trip. We got to QuakeCon safely and Jilted, Expel/Industro and I unloaded our computers and proceeded to registration. Somehow I forgot to check off 'yes' on BYOC when I filled out the registration form way back when and I couldn't bring my computer in. So we called UnLeashed (who stayed home) and got him to fax his drivers license and had him sign the bottom of the fax and I took his place in the BYOC section. Thanks, to Mike Leary for being cool about that whole thing. And thanks to that weird volunteer dude for being so weird - gave me something to laugh about for the next few days.
We settled into our corner and proceeded to join in on the Quake 3 madness. I was left playing FIFA 99 because Q3 wasn't working on my frikkin machine. I have a superfast P-166 with 128 megs of ram :P. I considered asking John Carmack for technical support, but then - like some miracle - it actually started working and I began to enjoy my 13 FPS Q3 games. For Quake breaks we took in a few games of Grand Theft Auto, which despite the cheesy graphics is actually a very good multiplayer game.
Tourney time came around and Industro and I were in the same batch. I wasn't expecting to do well, because I had retired from the game a few months back, but I was gonna give it my best shot. Well, me best wasn't quite good enough. Despite taking an early lead in my group, I began falling down in the standings as the game wore on. I ended up in last with 30 frags. The guy in first had 49, so it was a pretty close game - no real dominant players. If only I had practiced more. Sigh. Check out the stats for my group here.
Industro, the Quaker formerly known as Expel, finished a cool second in his group. Good Job bra. Check out his groups stats here. All that pain of not qualifying at the Frag for 2 years straight was finally put behind him.
Jilted was in the group that had the future Thresh, an 8 year old by the name of kamikaze. Anyway, Jilted's 35 frags were good enough to put him into the second round. Here are his groups stats (check out the lil kids 8 frags btw!).
Oh - at this time i'd like to mention that Thursday night we all drank a bottle of Crown and got really drunk. Ok, back to the tourney stuff.
The next day, we got down to out 'puters at about 11:30. And guess what? Industro's 2nd round match was @11:00. DOH! Another year of misery for poor Industro. Next year we'll check what time our next matches are before assuming that they will take place hours after we get down there.
Jilted's second round group was a pretty tough bunch. Although he didnt make the top 4, he did have the least amount of deaths (29), but that no-frag zone he hit was the killer. Here are the group stats.
Anyway, we were all officially eliminated from the tourney now, so it was back to our machines, and back to more Quake3 DM's. The highlight of the week-end was the killer 100+ player game that was set-up around 2:00am Sat night. Congrats to the dude in front of us who fired that quad rocket into the pyramid. Check out a few of the screenshots Industro took.
Well, that's about all I have to say about QuakeCon 99. Basically it was a bunch of nerds and smelly people playing Quake and watching The Matrix. Oh yeah - I forgot about the really bad heavy metal music being pumped over the intercom system for the first day. Definitely the lowlight of the weekend. -vektor
